Re: Sports Hub - What's the verdict?

If I recall correctly a covered stand was planned for the opposite side of the pitch. It was then removed from the plans in response to the legal bid to stop the development on the grounds of green belt openness. There is a cutaway area in the fencing behind the dugouts - and a patch of concrete - ...

Re: Ronnie Corbett and John Cleese in old Walton town centre

If you get the time - 'The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer' is well worth a watch - a largely forgotten political satire from 1970 - bit patchy at times but way ahead of the curve - especially in the current political climate. failed attempt for Peter Cook to launch a solo career as a movie star - d...

Re: Missing Boy

sounds like it wasn't his bike

given the fact nobody's been reported missing - I'm hopeful this is a case of a mistaken witness.

Re: Cowey Sale cafe and toilets

Car park is on the flood plain too. Incidentally, my comments are pure speculation. I had assumed they would significantly re-route Walton Lane too. no worries - I didn't mean to sound so argumentative. it just bugs me every time I go down there - could have had a lovely sweep of grass between the ...

Re: Cowey Sale cafe and toilets

I still can't believe that - when they re-routed Walton Lane to link it with the new bridge - they didn't run the road BEHIND the cafe and car park. Could be issues with flooding/flood plain? If you think about it, the extension bit of the Bridge wasn't removed & there has been a bridge over the ma...

Re: SCC - charging at community recycling centres

I've just bought 25 roof tiles for 50 quid to replace cracked ones on my roof - as a DIY job.

It'll now cost me 125 quid to get rid of the old cracked ones.

Time for a bit of fly tipping methinks .......

not serious - but plenty of people will be.

Re: Cowey Sale cafe and toilets

As an aside, is it just me or does anyone else feel that this building is the wrong way round. It was built along with the new Walton bridge yet from the counter or seating in front of the counter the view is of the field and car park, you can't see the bridge. This also means that from the bridge ...
