Re: Fort House Surgery - relocation to Walton Community Hospital

The Health centre used to have 4 practices but the blue one closed down a few years back and has never been replaced, why can't they move into there after all the reception desk is still there as I suspect the consulting rooms are. Maybe a bit down-market for Fort House but anything that saves the N...

Re: Fort House Surgery - relocation to Walton Community Hospital

Do I read this correctly, the cost of moving the surgery to Walton Hospital will be paid for 100% by the NHS and the owners of the Fort House will make a very good amount if they sell it or convert it into housing. To me that is totally unacceptable especially with the NHS finances as they are. But ...

Aldi coming back

Don't know if it's true but was told Aldi is taking over the Carpetright store, seems a funny thing to me as no parking, trolley will be dumped all over town as well as Walton having too many Supermarkets.

Re: Walton heritage - short film

I thought that was the wrong photo of the Regal, If aI remember correctly you had about half dozen steps running full length of the cinema to get in , as you say the Regal was a class cinema with the Odeon a bit tatty. I used to go to the Regal and Odeon alternate Saturdays for children's cinema get...

Re: Sainsburys empty shelves

The problem is in all Sainsbury's stores, they are a disgrace now, it is all down to the useless CEO. first as you say he got rid of the night shift so no shelf stacking is now done overnight. Then he got rid of the in-store HR teams., Then he asked the department heads and team leaders to either ta...

Another empty building

I see Hampton’s the estate agents is now empty, that would make a nice restaurant with flats upstairs. Also the empty phone shop near Halifax would make a great coffee shop, after all Walton has a great shortage of restaurants, coffee shops and flats .

Re: too much time on social media is gradually rotting our minds

I have never been on Facebook or Twitter or any other site like that, they do not interest me in the slightest, but I did meet my wife through a pen pal site, but I cannot remember what that was called now.

Re: Incognito mode

Thanks for your help, I have all the updates for my browser and cleared all the history etc, but I don't know what disabling an extension means. Anyhow it's not a problem think it must be something to do with Chrome as this morning tried to log in with my new phone and the same happened had to go in...

Re: Incognito mode

Yes I did accept cookies and I use a Samsung Tablet with a Chrome browser, It always worked okay for me in the past, but now it won't allow me to sign in unless I go incognito, guess it's something to do with Chrome as it won't sign into my energy provider either. But I can with Firefox or Samsung's...

Guess the lists will be closed until they move into new premises, I thought I read a while ago they were moving to Walton Hospital.

Re: Ride London consultation

An interesting piece of an article written by Simon Cowel of the Wildlife Aid Foundation who has a lot to say about the way government local and national is acting well worth a read of the full article on paragraph is as follows. Another dose of bad news came in the form of the revelation that the l...

Re: Mobile Phone use while driving

This morning while waiting at red traffic lights in New Zealand Avenue by Bunnings, a car came Down on the outside of me and went straight across the lights without slowing down if something came out of The Heart or Bunnings a terrible accident could have happened. I regularly see cars turning left ...

Re: Bunnings

I would not be surprised to see it closed, I believe it is the smallest Bunnings and it would be very expensive to convert it back to a Homebase, Bunnings are spending £1m per store to convert. Losing the DIY store would be a great loss to Walton, it is probably the only store that make people trave...
