Re: Aldi coming back

I am looking forward to aldi coming back.(assuming they do). Good alternative to sainsburys. Personally i can walk there but am concerned about how popular these places are and the parking provision. The lidl in hersham carpark is normally rammed. Many times ive driven in and straight out again.

Re: Wellington Close aka Walton Flats

Hi...can you give us a basic overview of the costs vs price vs value. I know the last one, current value, will be open to speculation but the other values are quite fixed.

Cost of flat pre works
Cost of works
Current value of completed flat

Thanks

Thieving ferral youth

Pal asked me to post this. Vid of thief taking stuff from his car in Walton. Date and time is on the cctv..couple weeks back late friday night night. The bike in the vid is also stolen from nearby property and then later returned oddly enough.

Re: Wellington Close aka Walton Flats

Steer clear of leasehold if you can. You will never know what costs are just around the corner.

And the same safe place the Sculpture of Leaping Birds in front of former Bird's Eye Offices was kept.

Re: Wellington Close aka Walton Flats

Would be surprised if it sold for even 300k though.

Overvalued in first place.
Troublesome market.
Leasehold.
No garden.
Questions still remain over the safety of over cladding. (Although the spur block not such a concern)

Re: Wellington Close aka Walton Flats

Every time I drive past I hardly ever see more than two people working on the project. I get the impression they are hanging it out ?
Maybe im wrong but its hardly been a hive of activity. Unless theres loads of staff working on the inside aswell.

Re: 12-16 High Street

What walton needs today ( and not some pipe dream 40 years in the future ) is a decent public transport system at the right price. We used to have red buses here every 15 mins. Linking Walton, staines and kingston. The bus service now is rubbish and expensive.

Re: 12-16 High Street

So instead of owning a vehicle the proposed solution is to have you rent one instead. Pure genius. Taking the current situation you would need another vehicle just to get to the rental and another vehicle to get you back home again after drop off. Even if they station a car somewhere local its still...

Re: 12-16 High Street

Maybe the whole of walton can join this 'club'. Then nobody will need cars anymore. We must get further detsils of this miraculous concept.

Perhaps this development also proposes to extend the trainline down to the high street. That would also be excellent.

Re: 12-16 High Street

Can someone enlighten me what this means ? Car club membership? Cars 'hosted' at two locations ? Theres a terrible problem now with on street parking. Residents have had enough of the on street parking debacle and developments like this should be stopped due to lack of parking provision. Its also no...

Re: Birdseye Building - SOLD FOR RESIDENTIAL

Buying a building that no one else wants, putting your plans out for public consultation and then submitting a planning application stating exactly what you plan to do and having pass through both the local committee and full council doesn’t strike me as massively underhand. Also worth pointing out...
