Dominic Raab MP becomes Minister of State for Housing at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government

At least he is no longer in charge of removing Euro Courts & Human Rights!
(He did not get in to the cabinet)

First Job - stop building more housing in Walton on Thames!
Second - Stop building on Green Land
Third - make more money available for local government ie social care etc
Fourth - Do not become PM as The Sun predicts!!

The Sun:-
Mr Raab, a keen Brexiteer tipped as a possible future leader, said today:
"I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the housing brief, vital to building the new homes we need."

Zero chance of that.

Raab will use this. If he does well he will aim to be PM in next year or so. Probably only reason he has taken this.

There is no golden bullet answer to Brexit. I don't really believe any of the parties truly know what to do here.

I think if anything TM changing policy is only weakening our position here. Europe will keep trying to dictate how this happens.

Possibly the only good to come of this is that Raab trained as a lawyer, so at least when it comes to negotiating he should understand what's going on.

The job is a Poison Chalice!
Just wait till March 2019, he will annoy the whole country (and the EU)!!
Brexit in it's current form is not even close to what he wants (read his blogs) so will he try to change it to his own agenda.

And I have not even mentioned his best mate Gove going on every TV channel on the weekend to support of the PM and Brexit in it's current form -
This is not what he has campaigned for - what a turncoat (again)! This man switches allegiances every five minutes to suit his agenda also to become PM!

Are you suggesting that a Conservative politician would sacrifice principles to advance their own career?
I think it's pretty strong to suggest that they have principles!

Well that's backfired RAAB taking that job - backed the wrong side !!
He should have resigned!

When May Government falls by the end of the month (or quicker at this rate) Raab will fall with it and will find it hard to get another ministers job!

You should be on TV John.

It's a toss-up between becoming the BBC's Political Editor or a comic turn on Have I Got News for You!

BBC's Political Editor - I would only say the truth about the Tory's. (and get sacked!) But your right, I would do a better job than LK!

If she said truth about Labour she would equally get sacked. Really not sure Labour have that much more of a plan for Brexit. Both parties are pretty divided on the issue.

Even Labour will admit they can't force an election as the Tories will not do anything that would cause an election. Not even sure Boris would cause a leadership challenge here. See what happens I guess.

The problem is that even if the knives come out and a general election was called, Corbyn is as pro-brexit as Raab and Boris.
There is absolutely no opposition.

There would need to be a leadership challenge in labour to get someone (Chukka ?) who actually opposes the government.

Sadly I don't think you'd qualify for the BBC job as they probably want to employ someone who knows there is more than one Tory in the party.
