Pizza Hut

Post by Davros » Wed Sep 05, 2018 4:01 pm

I heard a rumour last night that a sit down Pizza Hut will be occupying the old Dorothy Perkins site in the High Street after refurb.

Please tell me it ain’t so!

I wonder if they will do something like this for Walton. Would mean their existing takeaway store might close and move to this site. So basically takeaway and dining too. I think when they planned the revamp here maybe they already had clients who would take on the site.

I could certainly see Carpet Right move into one of the new stores where Boots/Whsmiths is. Planning would take months anyway for a new supermarket.

Some bad news. Gourmet Burger Kitchen future in doubt. So Walton store could close if it goes under.

I would like to see the old Woolworths block with Wilkinson knocked down. They could have an ALdi/travel lodge there.

Underground parking. I do agree more flats locally will cause more parking issues.

New planning for this old Dorothy Perkins site. 12-16 High Street

Now planning 32 flats above the site! So from 2 floors to 5-6 floors. Looks like 8-10 parking bays round back. I assume they will demolish site and restart.

Seems flats with no/little parking is the way forward.

I wonder if they should not just regenerate the whole high street with hundreds of flats. As this is what is gradually being requested. You will have 5-6 story flats along the entire High Street. Least they can walk to do their food shop.

Interesting but have you noticed the flats going up over M&S have stalled.

I recon were in for a slump what with nothing much selling at the moment

The last planning for M and S site was for a Travel Lodge. So there will be no flats there. Not sure what the delay for this is. It was only decided in last few months.

In Terms of 1/2 bedroom flats I think there is good demand for these. There are a large number of planning on Hight Street for 1-2 bedroom flats. I suspect the higher end might be struggling more. 500k-1.5m is a lot of money for a 3-4 bed room home.

500k is a lot of money for a 3 bed home. Particularly when you can buy one in Walton for £350 to 375k !
