Have sent a direct message to the moderator asking him to get a grip on it. Must be technically feasible to prevent bots joining. Maybe needs one of those check question things for new sign ups to prove they are human not a robot

The issue is there is only webmaster at present moderating. By his own admission he is very busy with real life.

There are security check questions to sign up to forum but clearly people have found ways around this. More likely an individual than a bot?? Not sure. Why they are targeting this forum is a mystery. Could be because they think Walton is a rich area? Hmmmm.

Remember this? Posted on Monday on the "Charging for Tennis Courts in Elmbridge" thread:

As you know we also had some volunteer moderators assisting previously, however they are also no longer available. That being said, I will ensure that moving forward I am regularly moderating the forum as I have done in the past. Apologies for the SPAM bots, I know they significantly spoil the experience of visiting the forum and those accounts will be deactivated. Please continue to flag SPAM posts using the report button.

Finally please keep the dialogue friendly, this is a public forum and it should be an enjoyable place to visit and read the posts.

Thank you.

Tim has kindly offered to moderate and has posted as such on the other 'General' page.

I did offer myself but was deemed too partisan by a previous moderator.

Thanks again.
