Chris Try Checkatrade.com
Be careful there are a lot of con artists out there and this site gives you feedback and they are supposed to be reliable to be on it. Val.

Yes. I had the Tinkers aka pikies around the other day offering to 'Tarmac' 'As were 'just around d' corner gov'nor and we have some left over sir, I could do it cheap like'

The voice piece is dressed smartly with a sign written van and is always 'just driving past and happened to notice'.... If you start talking he now has a foot in the door. He uses a bit of charm intimidation and the promise of a cheap job. When the rest of the family arrive almost immediately and start spreading from a clapped out low loader with a yellow light on the roof, you are in trouble.

The price is anything they think they can get away with.

Best ploy is to say. 'Just put a quote through the door mate and I will pass it on to the landlord'.. Same for double glazing salesmen/women etc.....Ha!

We always do it ourselves, we only have ourselves to blame then.

Guys,

the time has got a lot closer to get the driveway done now as I have made a mistake and removed a hedge without thinking.

Anyone else had their drive way done ?

Thanks

The problem with hard standing driveways is that the heavy rain doesn't drain away properly and can result in flooding, we prefer gravel.

We should be getting a regualr block driveway if I understand the Regs correctly - as it is able to drain onto grass to soak away.

Failing that a porous block drive could be installed - this soaks up rain like a sponge, then slowly releases it.

Pretty neat :)

Certainly a better option than concrete or tarmac.
