Walton & Hersham United FC

The official junior club of Walton & Hersham FC, with more than 40 teams and over 1,000 playing members from under-6 to under-18.

Walton & Hersham United FC is the largest children’s sports club in the area by some distance: more than 40 teams and over 1,000 playing members, based at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub.

About

The club is the resident community club at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub, the £18 million facility on Waterside Drive, chosen for that role by Elmbridge Borough Council. It is also the official junior club for Walton & Hersham FC. It describes its approach as football for all ability levels.

Who it is for

Children and young people from under-6 to under-18. Teams are organised across boys’ competitive, boys’ development, girls’, mixed and women’s recreational categories, so there is a route in whether a child wants competitive football or not.

Activities

Football, across more than 40 teams. The breadth of the categories is the point: the club sets out to place players of different abilities and ambitions in a suitable team rather than turning them away.

When and where

Training and matches take place at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub on Waterside Drive. Age-group arrangements vary and are published by the club.

Joining or taking part

Families are asked to complete a registration form on the club’s website expressing interest in a free trial. The club then replies with available dates and where a child might fit.

Getting there

The Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub is on Waterside Drive, Walton-on-Thames KT12 2JP.
