Walton Voices hosts a day of singing with composer Matthew Coleridge, working through his cantata The Breath of Life. The workshop is run in partnership with Leatherhead Choral Society as an introduction to the piece ahead of both choirs’ autumn performances, so everyone learns it together from the beginning.
Registration and refreshments are from 9.30am, with four sessions running through the day and an informal performance of selected pieces at 4.35pm that friends and family are welcome to attend. Scores are provided on the day.
The day is open to singers of all abilities, though the organisers note that basic music reading or previous choral experience is essential. Tea, coffee and cake are available throughout; singers are asked to bring their own lunch.
