Walton-on-Thames Repair Cafe is a volunteer-led project for repairing broken household items and keeping them out of landfill. Bring an item along and you are matched with a volunteer: the group has repairers with electrical, mechanical, textile and electronic skills. Items are not always fixable, but where they cannot be repaired the volunteers will offer advice on what to do next.
The group meets on the second Saturday of the month at Walton Community Hub on Manor Road, running from 10am to 1pm. Sessions operate by appointment, so get in touch to book a slot before turning up.
There is no charge to bring an item, though donations are welcomed towards running costs. Tea, coffee and homemade cakes are available.
