The Viking Sea Scouts are the water-based scout group in Walton, running powerboating and river activities from a headquarters on Felix Road alongside everything a land group does.
About
The group is a Sea Scout group in the Walton & Weybridge District, based at its own Scout headquarters on Felix Road, close to the river.
Who it is for
Children and young people from four to eighteen, across five sections: Squirrels for ages four to six, Beavers for six to eight, Cubs for eight to ten and a half, Scouts for ten and a half to fourteen, and Explorers for fourteen to eighteen. That makes it one of the few local groups taking children as young as four.
Activities
Scouting with a water programme on top: the group’s own recent news covers powerboating and river activities, and it takes an interest in Thames water quality.
When and where
Meetings are at the Felix Road headquarters. The district publishes the section nights as Beavers on Wednesdays, Cubs on Tuesdays and Scouts on Fridays.
Joining or taking part
The group runs a waiting list. Families join the application list through Online Scout Manager, linked from the group’s own website, and the group has published policies covering how children move up between sections.
