Hersham FC

Football club founded in 1976, with men's, women's and girls' teams, veterans, walking football and youth teams from under-7 to under-18.

Hersham FC runs 22 regular teams across men’s, women’s, girls’ and youth football, playing its home games at Desborough Island in Walton-on-Thames and its junior games in Hersham. It is a separate club from Walton & Hersham FC.

About

The club was established in 1976. It is registered as a sports and social club and accredited by the FA under the England Football programme. Its Saturday first team plays in the Premier Division of the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western) in the 2026-27 season.

Walton & Hersham FC, the Swans, is a different club, formed in 1945 when an earlier Walton FC and Hersham FC merged.

Who it is for

Children, young people and adults. Youth teams run from under-7 to under-18, and girls’ teams from under-11 to under-14. For adults there are men’s and women’s teams, a veterans side and walking football.

  • Men’s football: a Saturday first team, Sunday sides, a veterans team and an under-23 team

When and where

The club plays most of its home games at Desborough Island. Its junior teams play at Bell Farm Primary School, and training is at Coronation Recreation Ground in Hersham. The club does not publish training days and times on its site; its teams page lists a manager for each team.

Getting there

  • Home ground: Desborough Island, Walton Lane, Walton-on-Thames KT12 1QP. From Walton Bridge, turn into Walton Lane, take the first right after about 500 yards over a small bridge, and follow the road for about half a mile. The ground is on the right.
  • Junior ground: Bell Farm Primary School, entered from Hersham Road (sat nav KT12 5NB).
  • Training: Coronation Recreation Ground, off the A244 in Hersham (sat nav KT12 4QT).
