Walton & Weybridge Amateur Operatic Society has been staging musicals since 1925 and both performs and rehearses at the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, the theatre Cecil Hepworth left to the town’s dramatic societies.

The society was formed in 1925 and is a registered charity, number 1169732. It is based at the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse in Walton-on-Thames, where its shows are staged and where most rehearsals take place.
Who it is for
Adults and older teenagers, on stage and off. The society says it is always looking for new members for both performing and crew roles.
Activities
Two main musical shows a year, plus music hall and compilation shows.
When and where
Rehearsals are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with occasional Sundays closer to a performance week, at the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse.
Joining or taking part
Membership runs at £60 a year for an adult member, £30 for an associate member and a minimum of £90 for a patron. Enquiries go through the society’s own website.
