Walton-on-Thames Cricket Club has played at Ashley Park since 1898 and runs one of the larger junior sections in this part of Surrey alongside four senior Saturday XIs.
About
The club was founded in 1898 and plays at Ashley Park, off Ashley Park Avenue. It fields four senior sides in Saturday league cricket in the AJ Sports Surrey Championship, together with a Sunday side in the Surrey Trust League. It also runs an internal competition of its own, called The Smash.
Who it is for
Both adults and children. Junior coaching starts at age five, and the club states that it welcomes new adult members of all ages and abilities. Alongside the men’s league sides there is a women’s team, known as the Pens, and an over-40s side called the Walton Wolves.
Activities
Saturday and Sunday league cricket for seniors, women’s cricket, over-40s cricket, and a junior section of around 200 playing members. Junior coaching is organised by age group, with sessions for children aged five to eleven, for boys aged twelve to fifteen, and separate sessions for girls, and a route through to men’s cricket for older teenagers.
When and where
Cricket runs through the summer season at Ashley Park, with senior league matches on Saturdays and the Sunday side playing in the Surrey Trust League. Junior coaching runs on Sundays for the youngest age groups and on weekday evenings for older juniors.

The ground is at 197 Ashley Park Avenue, and the pavilion is on the same site. Walton-on-Thames station is the closest railway station to the town.
